For those Canadians who preordered WAR from EB Games…

Players who have received a Collectors Edition Pre-Order card from EB Games Canada may be experiencing difficulties when entering their Open Beta code into their Beta Center account.

Due to a printing error the Head Start and Open Beta codes were reversed. Please attempt to enter the code listed under Head Start instead when inputing the promotional code into your Beta Center account and save the code labeled for Open Beta for later.

Please note, if you have not received a Pre-Order card from your retailer you must contact your retailer as we will be unable to assist you.

Bah, I don’t like being this late on news but I missed out on this in the morning when I had time to post. Syp over at Waaagh! has reported on a bad experience with pre-ordering the Warhammer Online Collectors Edition from Amazon.com, with several people reporting on several similar experiences.

Basically a bunch of people have had their pre-order cancelled with the following message:

We’re sorry to report that we have cancelled the item from the order you placed on March 26 2008 “Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Collector’s Edition [DVD-ROM]“ We cancelled this item from your order because we did not receive your approval for the delay we experienced in fulfilling your order.

The problem is these people never got this apparent email that allowed them to approve anything. Still, simply re-ordering the CE will fix the issue, but it’s still quite lousy on Amazon’s part.

All you UK folk will be glad to know that all HMV stores will begin selling pre-orders for the Collectors Edition of WAR on the 25th of April 2008. You can preorder online via Play.com too if you’re from UK and Ireland.

Remember, stocks are limited!

Another edit: I just got a better source of this information, which is what I’m guessing sparked Warhammer Geek’s post. Iain Compton posted this on Warhammer Alliance: "The pre-order kit will be available in HMV stores (only in stores and not via their website) in the UK from the 25th of April."
