Tons of Comic Con Videos

image I can’t believe I missed reporting on all of these videos, so thanks to Warhammer Geek for posting about them today.

Warhammer Conflict has a plethora of videos from Comic Con, more than any other site I believe, and here they are:

Paul Barnett’s “Waaagh!!!” Practice
Paul Barnett’s “Blooper Reel”
NY Comic Con: EA Mythic’s Presentation (Part 1)
NY Comic Con: EA Mythic’s Presentation (Part 2)
NY Comic Con: EA Mythic’s Presentation (Part 3)
NY Comic Con: EA Mythic’s Presentation (Part 4)
NY Comic Con: EA Mythic’s Presentation (Part 5)
Bonus Video! Paul in Thong v2.0

I didn’t realize Comic Con would bring so much WAR-goodness!

MMORPG Trends and Issues

Ten Ton Hammer has both the Moderator Q&A and Audience Q&A for the MMORPG Developer Panel at NY Comic Con. Whilst not directly related to WAR, it has the good ol’ Hickman in it, along with:

  • Age of Conan Game Designer Jason Stone
  • Turbine VP of Product Development Craig Alexander
  • 38 Studios VP of Creative Development Scott Cuthbertson
  • EVE Online Game Designer Matt Woodward.

(I’m posting this at 3:22am, sorry if I screwed up somewhere)

Video interview with ‘those guys’ from Mythic

imageSome great content is still flowing in from Comic Con! But seriously, we just can’t get enough of these guys. Ten Ton Hammer’s Garret Fuller spent a few minutes with Paul Barnett, Jeff Hickman, and Josh Drescher and all their crazy antics just before Comic Con started. Kind of makes me want to get a real job…for a minute.

WAR’s Booth at Comic Con

This is the first image I’ve seen of WAR’s booth at Comic Con, and sadly it’s the only one this site posted, nevertheless lets all bask in its glory as it does look like a pretty sweet booth.

I found this image at Newsarama.com and there are some other great photos of Comic Con there too.

MMORPG.com with Josh, Jeff & Paul

image

At this year’s New York Comic Con, Managing Editor Jon Wood had the chance to talk with Josh Drescher, Jeff Hickman and Paul Barnett about the perception held by some that their roles at EA Mythic are purely PR. The three talk openly about their roles at the company beyond what we see at shows, in video dev dairies and elsewhere.

What can I say about this? If you can’t get enough off Josh, Jeff, and Paul then you’ll definitely get your fix from the article, as for nuggets of Warhammer Online information, you’ll have to keep looking.

More RvR footage from Comic Con

Another great piece of RvR footage from the same guy who brought the previous footage of the Zealot. This time you get a decent look at Chaos Chosen RvR gameplay, and apart from the quality (damn YouTube!) it’s well worth a watch.

Great RvR footage from Comic Con

It’s footage like this that makes me that much more excited for Warhammer Online. The content isn’t breathtaking, but the polish of the game, and how finished it looks (even though it’s over 6 months away from launch) is amazing.

The video is some RvR footage in a Scenario, with the player playing a Chaos Zealot. My concerns about the combat being too slow have definitely been thwarted, that’s for sure.

Interview with Josh Drescher and Jeff Hickman

Fansite Warhammer Conflict has a video interview with Josh Drescher and Jeff Hickman from the Comic-Con event, as well as a Q&A interview with Mark Jacobs.

There’s no need to pad this post with content, just head over and check out those interviews!

Feels great to get all this Warhammer goodness, doesn’t it?

NY Comic Con Warhammer Impressions

Home!

People recently got to go hands on with Warhammer Online at Comic Con in New York. Warhammer Vault nicely summed up the important points gained from players impressions:

  • Armor for your mounts
  • Newsletter next week
  • Final High Elf class revealed in newsletter
  • Mainly high end computers in beta right now. Mid to low aren’t invited to beta yet due to lack of slider capabilities on graphics
  • Ability to dye armor at level 10
  • Chaos Chosen and Chaos Zealot Videos from Comic Con

Members over at Warhammer Alliance have written up their full impressions from the event and it’s sounding pretty good, the main issues being focused more on balancing and small(ish) tweaks.

What stood out to me is peoples thoughts about the Disciple of Khaine  class, and their opinion that its damage output is simply not enough to be effective. Once again though, that would surely just require some minor tweaking, so it isn’t much of a concern at this point in the Beta. There were a few people that shared this same concern.
