June 2008 Newsletter Leaked

I’ll update this post with leaked links from the June 2008 Newsletter.

Just added:

Thanks to Warhammer Alliance for these links.

New Podcast: ChaosCast

Aw man. Just after I’ve been unsubscribing from heaps of podcasts because I was spendng too much time listening to them ChaosCast has come along. I haven’t had a chance to listen yet, but I’ll make sure to check it out when I get home in a few hours.

ChaosCast is hosted by: Syp of Waaagh!, Keen of Keen & Graev’s Gaming Blog, and Snafzg of The Greenskin - that’s quite an epic lineup so it’ll definitely be a podcast to watch out for.

Check out the podcast here.

Leaked May 2008 Newsletter for Warhammer Online

Okay, it’s not really leaked, as everyone finds the links to this stuff before every newsletter is out, but here is some of the goodies from the May 2008 Newsletter.

Thanks to Warhammer Alliance for finding them.

White Lion - A Confirmed Class for Warhammer Online

Okay, we all new it was coming, but confirmation is nice.

Mastery Paths

  • The path of the hunter focuses on balance between elf and war lion; both stride into battle side-by-side, lashing out in powerful combination attacks that can hit multiple opponents at once.
  • The path of the axeman focuses the offensive role onto the player, while the war lion takes a more defensive role. This line focuses on large, single-target damage, causing the player to rely on his or her war lion or group mates to distract opponents so that the player can make a flank attack.
  • The path of guardian focuses on helping defend your war lion or group by disabling and reducing your opponents combat abilities and reducing the threat generated by your allies. This allows your war lion or group to take a more offensive role, striking harder with less fear of retribution.

Warhammer Alliance has all the details here.

Warhammer Geek Parody: Rock This War

200805270700.jpg

Will these guys ever stop? Hopefully not! This new parody song from Warhammer Geek is based on the song Walk This Way by DMC. Hey guys, why not release something that’s more akin to my music tastes? Why not make parodies of Jack Johnson, or the John Butler Trio…? Sure, it may not fit with the theme of WAR but I’d love it. ;)

News From the Front!

Note from Dave: Sorry about getting this published late, Vidictus actually wrote this a couple of days ago. Purely my fault.

Well the Herald has put out a new issue to keep us up to date on how beta has been doing (finally) and it, sounds, awesome. Last month they tested out the campaign system starting in Order Tier 3 campaign, it advanced into Tier 4 as well as the players fought desperately from the fort to fort along the roads to Altdorf. At the moment it sounds like it is going rather well. I can’t wait to get my hands on it, they implemented the mail system as well. I’m not sure whether or not they sacked Altdorf, but it doesn’t sound like they could. They also added some Screenshots, but did not announce it on the main page. And to all you Greenskin fans and Grudgebearers out there, next set of beta will be on the Bloody Sun Boyz facing off against the Oathbearers from the Worlds edge mountains, personally, I’ve got my money on the Dwarves.

Well, until the next news pops up from under EA’s Massive pile or greatness, Live by the blade, die by the blade.

Oceanic Servers…sweet!

As an Aussie this is probably the best news I’ve heard in a long time regarding WAR.

Posted today, an announcement on the WAR Herald has a bunch of juicy information about Oceanic servers. The two most important questions answered are:

  • Where will the server be located?
The game server will be located on mainland Australia and service New Zealand, Singapore, and other surrounding South East Asian territories.
  • When will the server be available?
Australian, North American, and European servers will all launch simultaneously with the client available throughout the supported territories mentioned above.

Unfortunately all you Americans/Europeans won’t get to enjoy my lovely company in game though. Oceanic servers ftw.

Also, for discussion and more details about the Oceanic servers read interviews with Josh Drescher on IGN and GameSpot.
