Guardian.co.uk are not the first resource I think of when looking for impressions of upcoming MMORPG’s, but nevertheless they’ve delivered a somewhat short, yet still positive look at the game, although the author seems a little too disappointed at the lack of /dance functionality in the game, and makes few too many comparisons to WoW when summing up the article. Nevertheless, it’s good to see the game getting a bit more mainstream press and the articles sums up fairly well what Warhammer Online plans to achieve.
Also, it’s funny to read through the comments of the article, where there are obviously a few WoW players trying to defend their beloved game, and my favorite comment of them all: “As an ex-Warhammer nerd, if there’s one thing guaranteed to wind me up it’s people complaining that something Warhammer looks too much like Warcraft. They should have sued Blizzard into a pile of burning embers back when they had the chance.” I may not be as forthcoming as the commenter but when Warcraft fans say something like that it does annoy the hell out of me.
