Default What are your concerns for WAR?

For me, the only real concern for the game is going to be 1v1 balance along with balancing the populations. What about y'all?

For me, its a stand off between, If names can have spaces, commers, numbers or a last name tacked onto them or if characters can dance and joke. I know, I'm petty about the small things, but honestly, I think they know what they are doing PvP wise.

Mark Jacobs said in the shoutbox on warhammerconflict that special characters will not be allowed in names.

Aww First no dancing, then no special characters in names. That kind of sucks I was hoping to have an Orc called "One-eye" and have him with the eye patch from the CE. Guess I'll have to use my brain to think of a name now

Aww, I am sure given the amount of time we have until launch in the fall you can come up with an awesome name!

Or take one from Soulstorm "Rokclaw" was a good name, or "Goregutz" but that last one would be going to far. The Warhammer version of the legolas fans of WoW :P

I'm afraid i have to agree, just how many versions are we going to see of Goregutz, how many Z's are they going to be able to tack on the end of that.

Or will we have as many legolas' as we do goregutzs. Either way for a PC to take the name its lame

i'm concerned about class balance and the viability of all 3 healers on either side. unless the disciple of khaine has some serious survivability, they're going to get torn up rather quickly. from what people are saying shaman can't really heal all that well - which is disapointing because that really only leaves you with one option if you want to be a serious healer, not just a hybrid who can heal a little. keep in mind i hope to be proven wrong here.

one of the things that drives me nuts about wow is that when you curse over someone on the opposite side it tells you what class they are, in daoc you had to be able to look at someone and tell from their gear what they were - this requires some actual skill, i am a fan of this (i know it's dumb, but it bothers me nonetheless)

the overall survivability of healers is a big concern for me, one of the best things about daoc as a healer was the simple fact that you wore chain mail, you had a heavy type of armor and didn't just go down like a chump - zealots are wearing next to nothing, they've told us shaman don't have good survivability and as previously mentioned - a healer sitting in the middle of a melee fight is going to die fast, period.

one of the big issues for daoc imo was the fact that there were too many classes, so game balance was extremely difficult to achieve, and there were quite a few classes that there just weren't a use for, in the fact that they had no cc, no heals and there were people who provided better dps (theurgists come to mind, so do wardens - not bad classes, but if you can only have 8 people, why bring one of those?) so class balance is a concern.

anway yeah - i'm greatly looking forward to WAR, but there's lots to be worried about, lol.

I too was worried that classes won't be balanced as I would do with any MMO, but seeing as Mythic already have a lot of experience with DAoC and now have even more time (due to the pushbacks), then it may be very reasonable that they can work on class balance and get it right.

My only other worry is the crafting system. Although little information has been released it seems weird that only certain people have the 'skill' to search somebody for their gold tooth, or pull a weed from the ground, or cut out a wolf's tounge. Rather than anybody being able to do this but only those with the crafting skill can make use of the items (which I'm sure they'll include too). However as I said very little information has been released about it so I could be very very wrong in which case go ahead and ignore and me and pat me on the head too if you have pity.
